Geek.Kon Charity Art Auction (Art for Elders)

For the first time, Geek.Kon will be holding a charity art auction to benefit arts and crafts as well as other activities at the Hillside Manor Nursing Home in Beaver Dam, WI. The items sold in the auction will include pieces made by artists in artist alley, regular attendees and even residents, staff and volunteers of Hillside Manor.

If anyone is interested in donating pieces to the auction please post here or email: artist_relations@geekkon.net so that i can get a rough idea of how many pieces we will have in the auction. The auction will be a live auction on Sunday and if you decide to donate a piece to the auction it is as easy as dropping it off at the staff room sometime before the auction begins(i would prefer to know you are donating a piece ahead of time simply to plan the format of the auction better, and acknowledge the artist when their piece is auctioned).

Welcome to the official Geek.Kon club!

For those that don't know, Geek.Kon is a convention in Madison, WI dedicated to celebrating all things geeky from anime to sci-fi to fantasy to gaming and more. This club has been created for the purpose of giving past and future Geek.Kon attendees a place to meet together to make new friends, share stories and ideas, and express their mutual love of art when they are not at the con. Since the founding of Geek.Kon, art has been a core aspect of the con as seen in our continued dedication to making the best artist alley we can. In addition, while we ourselves do not create panels, we try our best to promote art and writing related panels as without quality artists and writers, no anime, sci-fi, fantasy, gaming or any other fandom can flourish.

Anyone who wishes to join this club is welcome as long as they remain courteous to others.
